Amsi — Condensed Roots, Present Voice
Amsi began with an unexpected encounter at ArtBasel, where Block Berthold Condensed appeared as a co-operated logo. This release reflects a purely personal impression of that particular font. Further research revealed that Block Berthold Condensed has been around for approximately a hundred years. That discovery set the direction for Amsi.
The design process uses Block Berthold Condensed as a core concept, interpreting a new aspect of Block Berthold in a present context through the outlook of the designer. Amsi is designed with three different widths: Normal, Narrow, and Condensed. It also expands across weights to support various usabilities, ranging from Thin, XLight, Light, Regular, SemiBold, Bold, Black, and Heavy. Together with numerous features, Amsi supports the creativities of the designer directly from the Font Menu.
