Gyst — Neo-humanist poise, lively italics
A neo-humanist sans serif by phospho., this typeface blends the discipline of Grotesque with hints of Antiqua. The upright styles feel classic and steady, while the true italics introduce serifs—moving the design from a modern humanistic sans to a cursive serif presence when needed.
Contrasting strokes add richness, while razor-edged terminals keep the rhythm crisp. The result reads graceful and assured, balancing geometric precision with a touch of eccentricity that stays controlled on the page.
Use it for body text or for display. The upright and italic styles work as a pair, and the autonomous cursive posture makes a strong counterpoint to the upright. Gyst comes in four upright and italic static weights, all equipped with a whole lot of Alternates and Ligatures. It is also available as Variable Font.
